While using final cut pro, I learned many elements of editing that were very important to the process. The one that I found the most useful while working was the blade tool. I thought it was very cool that you were able to cut out parts of videos that you didn't want, but were still able to have the rest of the video. I also learned that editing is a tedious process, and that if you don't know what you're doing while videoing, the editing is hard to control. I faced challenges while completing this because I didn't always understand the quickest way to get something done, however, shortcuts helped me overcome this. Overall, I feel like I was able to learn the basics of editing techniques and feel that I am ready to move on to new types of camera angles, and ways of storytelling. 1. You always need the six following items whenever you conduct any type of shot; camera, tripod, headphones, microphone, batteries, and media. 2. There are three types of shots that are very important to engage the viewer. These shots are called "Wide, Medium, and Tight" 3. While you are shooting, you need to think like an editor, and focus on what they would include in a production. 4. You should base your shots on how you naturally focus your attention in daily life, so that your work looks both professional and natural. 5. You should always start recording shortly before the interview starts. This way you are positively able to have all elements of what was said. |
